Ginger

Ginger is my oldest: she’s seven. Her breed is really a mystery. Definitely some pit bull, maybe some lab, and something smaller because she’s only forty-ish pounds. I adopted her from the Delaware County SPCA in Pennsylvania when she was about eighteen months. They told us she had been adopted and returned three times for being β€œtoo active.” They also said she had to live in a house with no other dogs, no cats, and no kids. Five years later she is, for the most part, a completely reformed girl. She still has her issues with the dogs and would chase the cats in a heartbeat if I gave her the word but she doesn’t try to murder them on sight. As the oldest, the longest resident, and the most dominant, Ginger has a great influence on the peace of my pack. She still has some work to do to become more peaceful but everyday is a new opportunity to learn.
