Ginger

Ginger is my oldest: she’s seven. Her breed is really a mystery. Definitely some pit bull, maybe some lab, and something smaller because she’s only forty-ish pounds. I adopted her from the Delaware County SPCA in Pennsylvania when she was about eighteen months. They told us she had been adopted and returned three times for being “too active.” They also said she had to live in a house with no other dogs, no cats, and no kids. Five years later she is, for the most part, a completely reformed girl. She still has her issues with the dogs and would chase the cats in a heartbeat if I gave her the word but she doesn’t try to murder them on sight. As the oldest, the longest resident, and the most dominant, Ginger has a great influence on the peace of my pack. She still has some work to do to become more peaceful but everyday is a new opportunity to learn.
